Specific Advantages for NTPs/NTCs and NTA Students

  • Enhance your current nutrition knowledge with detailed science of over a dozen special diets, handouts and instructions to implement special diets, clinical charts and decision making tools, and a scientific understanding of how the underlying biochemistry of chronic diseases affect the reactions to or healing properties of various foods
  • When using the NTA Functional Evaluation Technique, NTPs that are part of the BioIndividual Nutrition program will be able to further their skills, hone their recommendations, and save time by understanding the details and implementation of therapeutic diets.
  • Save yourself time in your practice by learning how to assess which foods to suspect first, where to start with diet and nutrition recommendations, and how to consider the bio-individuality of your client
  • Recognize therapeutic dietary pitfalls that can prevent your client from getting results – for example learn how grain-free diets can be high oxalate or high FODMAPS and can interfere with healing, or how other diets may be high salicylate or amine and may cause unwanted symptoms.
  • How to make your favorite diet even more successful with complex clients by customizing the diet with a combination of therapeutic diet principles to meet their BioIndividual Nutrition needs.

BioIndividual Nutrition

BioIndividual Nutrition is the science and clinical application of diet and nutrition intervention that is customized to the unique needs of an individual. Practitioner, patient, and technology work together to improve clinical outcomes and success.

Watch Julie’s explanation on BioIndividual Nutrition that she presented at the NTA Conference in 2014. Most chronic health conditions have underlying imbalances in immune, digestive, cellular and detoxification function. Factors that can make some people very sensitive to foods and chemicals – even seemingly healthy foods can cause irritability, hyperactivity, inattentiveness, and pain; and can exacerbate oxidative stress and inflammation and deplete underlying biochemical pathways. As a healthcare or nutrition professional, it is crucial to understand the role of food and nutrient deficiencies in your approach. If food reactions and dietary issues are not addressed, your overall healing approach may be ineffective.

Individualizing Diet can…

  • Support biochemistry and body systems for healing
  • Increase clinical effectiveness
  • Reduce dependence on certain medical and/or pharmaceutical interventions
  • Improve and restore nutrient status
  • Balance intestinal flora for gastrointestinal support

What your NTP Colleagues are Saying!

“I am a GAPS practitioner and I really needed the tools and resources your program teaches. I now feel confident that I will be able to… make a bigger impact on my community.””

Holly Morello, NTP, CGP

“Julie walks you through case studies and you gain an understanding of the thought process to identify symptoms and suitable dietary interventions. This was the missing link for me.”

Paula Bordenet, NTP

“Although my NTP training was excellent, the BioIndividual Nutrition course took my training to a higher level so I can help a much wider range of clients. My confidence as a practitioner has grown immensely.”

Cate Pellicer, NTP

“Through the BioIndividual Nutrition training I gained comprehensive insight on a dozen healing diets; specifically learning about foods that may be causing stress – many of which were “healthy” foods. I have a new sense of confidence in suggesting what foods to eat and avoid.”

Andrea Dahlman, NTP
